The members of the Anadec team have worked together from seven to thirteen years. Our experience includes working together as independent consultants before pooling skills and experience together at Anadec. Our team members specialize, but our skills overlap as well as complement one another.
Don MacDougall, President and Senior Consultant
Don has worked in commercial real estate analysis for eighteen years. The first seven were as an Analyst, Manager and Director at Marathon Realty, Confed Realty Services and Bramalea Shopping Centres.
Don focuses on the implementation, customization and strategic use of DYNA/BUDGET. This includes its effective integration with other systems such as property management and reporting. As a power user of these programs with a computer science education, he developed a systems’ understanding of the software with a real world user’s perspective. Experience with the programs dates back to Dynamis in 1990 and includes DynaLease along the way.
Don graduated with his Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University majoring in computer science, and was awarded the Dalhousie University Medal for Commerce. He got his MBA at Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario where he majored in finance. Subsequent to entering the work force Don obtained his Certified Management Accountant designation. Don’s formal education combined with eighteen years of experience in commercial real estate, allows him to speak the languages of multiple disciplines and to bridge communications gaps between accounting, finance, systems and real estate operations.
Mike Seidel, Vice President Programming & Design
Mike Seidel’s career in real estate started in 1993 when he played a pivotal role in the restructuring of Royal Trust into Gentra Inc. Mike has been working as a consultant since he left Gentra in 1995. An accountant with two designations, Mike has a wealth of experience working in the budgeting field. Mike develops client solutions by manipulating DYNA/BUDGET databases and their data, constantly improving methodologies and creating new tools for continuos improvement.
Mike has developed a skill set with DYNA/BUDGET that is unique. He has been developing specialized skills in manipulating compressed data in and out of DYNA/BUDGET for the last seven years. As he showed in his 2003 Fusion presentation, Mike can mine gold from DYNA/BUDGET’s data, as well as put gold back into it. Mike develops custom property and portfolio reports for client specific needs, and specializes in extracting and analyzing volumes of Data from DYNA.
Property and portfolio work processes that are repetitious, and labor intensive can be automated into one button solutions.
Mike’s education includes his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Data Processing from Concordia University. After articling with what is now Ernst & Young he became a designated Chartered Accountant (equivalent to a U.S. CPA) ana a Certified Management Accountant.
Alex Morton, Senior Consultant CTI & Data Warehousing
Alex Morton specializes in application development and maintenance on IBM midrange platforms. For the last thirteen years he has worked on projects for clients running CTI on the AS400. These projects have involved application management, project implementation, package conversion, systems analysis and program development and maintenance. In completing these projects he has acquired an in-depth knowledge of CTI data formats, and has also worked on the successful implementation of data warehouses.
In addition to CTI software experience, Alex has taught technical certificate courses on AS400 operating system, control language and RPG programming, emphasizing a structured approach to system development.
Earlier experience included financial, manufacturing, distribution, payroll, collections and retail systems running on the AS400 and interfacing with other platforms.
